Rs 39.5 cr received for Tamil chair at Harvard varsity:

State minister for Tamil Official Language and Tamil culture, K Pandiarajan today said about Rs 39.5 crore has so far been received for setting up the Tamil Chair at the Harvard University in the US.
The state government has contributed Rs 10 crore for the chair and World Tamil Research Centre Rs 2.6 crore, while as many as 9,800 persons from 26 countries, have contributed for the purpose, he told reporters here.
Harvard University has informed that it has received 5.6 million USD (Rs 36 crore) for the chair till February-end, he said adding a detailed report in this regard will be given by the Chief Minister himself.
