The incident took place near road number 14 as four miscreants riding on two bikes intercepted a bike and looted a bag containing Rs 9.5 lakh at gun point from two employees Gokhul Kunwar and Neeraj Kunwar before speeding away with the booty, Superintendent of Police (SP) Shekhar Kumar said.
The two employees of 'Maa Tara Petrol Pump' and 'Vaibhav Fuel Centre' reportedly belonging to the Congress leader Ajit Sharma were riding a bike on way to deposit the cash in a bank, he said.
Sharma, who is contesting the bypoll on Bhagalpur assembly seat vacated by the BJP MP Ashwani Chaube was not available for his comments.
