Rs 9 Cr to be spent on rejuvenation work of Saraswati Tirath

Haryana Irrigation Minister Harmohinder Singh Chattha today laid the foundation stone of Rs nine crore rejuvenation work of the pious Saraswati Tirath-- a pilgrimage site, near Pehowa.
Chattha, while addressing the gathering, said that with the completion of the prestigious Rs nine crore-project within a period of nine months, clean water will flow at the Saraswati Tirath throughout the year.
The rejuvenation work of the pious Saraswati Tirath near Pehowa has commenced from today and the leveling work of the 'Sarovar of the Tirth' would also be carried out, he added.
He said lakhs of devotees thronged the Pehowa Saraswati Tirath every year, adding that, the devotees have been demanding for long for clean water to flow in this pious Tirath throughout the year.
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had announced last year that Saraswati Tirath would be rejuvenated and water would flow in it throughout the year.
Under the project, a concrete pipeline of 700 mm diameter would be laid for the purpose from village Jhansa upto Pranchi Tirath.
The work of laying this 26 km pipeline from village Jhansa to Saraswati Tirath would soon start and the state government has released Rs nine crore to irrigation department for the work, he added.
