The deceased identified as Biswanth Mundari, 43, a senior technician, was on duty in Calcening Plant-II in the night shift and was the shift in-charge at the S-11 level.
While Mundari was in the control room, his two subordinates went on routine check of the whole unit. It was about 3 AM when one of them came back and found Mundary was lying unconscious after falling from his chair on the control panel, the officials said.
He was immediately taken for first aid where he was declared dead.
The plant authorities, meanwhile, assured that someone from Mundari's family will get a job after postmortem reports are received.
Behera said, "Mundari family may either accept the job where the wife will get a salary of around Rs 20,000 to Rs 22,000 and taken at the lowest level or she can accept the Employees Family Benefit Scheme (EFBS) and get the husband's present salary which is to the tune of Rs 66,000 per month for the next 17 years, besides, the accommodation."
Last week, one Bijaya Bodra, 56, a senior semi-skilled worker belonging to Traffic and Raw Materials department of the RSP died when he was crushed by a Poclain Crane.
