The Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh's (RSS) highest decision making body, the All India Pratinidhi Sabha, is all set to meet in Nagpur later this week to discuss the emerging political scenario in the country and elect its new General Secretary.
The Sabha comprising RSS delegates from its shakhas all over the country congregates annually to take stock of the political situation.
It will be held in Nagpur from March 13 to March 15 where top brass of the organisation including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will be present.
The Sabha also elects General Secretary every three years through voting by RSS delegates.
Suresh Bhayyaji Joshi is the current General Secretary whose second three year term is coming to an end. Joshi however is eligible for re-election.
The meeting assumes significance as it comes in the wake of government formation in Jammu and Kashmir where BJP is a partner with PDP.
The top decision making body of the RSS is also likely to take stock of BJP's position on issues like Article 370 in J&K and the controversial Land Aquisition Bill which has been opposed by RSS affiliate Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh.
The RSS delegates may also discuss certain controversial remarks made by PDP leaders after government formation in alliance with BJP especially Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's remarks crediting Pakistan, militants and separatists for peaceful polls in the state, that has kicked up a row.
The release of separatist leader Masarat Alam by the new J&K CM may also figure during discussions in the meeting.
