"It (genocide incident) is a brain numbing incident in the history of Rwanda. Hats off to the people for overcoming it, now growing strongly and also teaching the world to unite," Rwamucyo said after the ceremony.
He expressed hope that the 'Kwibuka20' ceremony would bring all the international and Indian students closer as they share their culture along with the academics.
The High Commissioner of Rwanda had flown to Vadodara to take part in this 'walk to remember' event.
The students of the Parul Group of Institutes lit candles and sung songs in remembrance of those of died and also those who survived the genocide.
'Kwibuka20' is a series of events taking place in Rwanda and around the world for commemoration of the genocide in the African country 20 years ago.
