The Punjab speaker on Tuesday assured the SAD-BJP members of holding an inquiry into their complaint of denial of entry into the assembly by security personnel for some time, causing them to miss the House proceedings for 10 to 15 minutes in the morning.

The Shiromani Akali Dal's legislative party leader Parminder Singh Dhindsa raised the issue of denial of entry and complained to Speaker Rana K P Singh during Zero Hour that they were prevented from entering the assembly for some time.

We were stopped from entering the assembly and which is why we reached 10-15 minutes late during Question Hour, said Dhindsa in the House.

He demanded immediate action against officials for stopping the BJP-SAD MLAs.

Speaker assured the members that an inquiry would be conducted into the matter and whosoever found guilty would not be spared.

Inquiry will be completed in two-three days, he said.

AAP MLA Aman Arora also corroborated Dhindsa's statement and said they were not allowed to enter the assembly.

Before the start of the session in the morning, SAD-BJP members were holding a protest outside the House on the issue of investigation into the 2015 incidents of desecration of Sikhs' religious text Guru Granth Sahib in the state.

They asked why the Congress-led government was refusing to order a Supreme Court-monitored probe into 2015 sacrilege incidents.

When they tried to enter the House along with a banner, the security staff stopped them from taking the banner along. They tried to force their way into the assembly but were prevented by the marshals of the House.

Later, they were allowed to enter and joined the Question Hour at 10.22 am.
