On a call attention notice by SAD MLA Maheshinder Singh on "vulgarity" in songs in the state Assembly, Revenue and Cultural Affairs Minister Bikramjit Singh Majithia said "the government is taking up the issue of giving due representation to Punjabis in Censor Board of Government of India."
He further urged that a branch of Board should also be set up in Punjab so that songs and advertisements that hurt the sentiments of others cannot be produced, screened and telecast at all.
"If any song or advertisement hurting sentiments of others is telecast then the parties concerned can register their complaint with the District Police Chief or SSP. On receiving of complaint, the Government had registered cases and will take the action in future too," he said.
