Popular playback singer Sadhana Sargam says melodious songs will continue to attract audience despite increasing western influence in Indian music.
"In 1990s, we had to record songs afresh even for minor mistakes in any single line, whereas the track recording of songs made the things easy for the present lot of singers," the 41-year-old National award winning singer said.
Asked about the challenges being faced by the Indian music, she said, "We should not promote songs if their rhythm is not in tune, wording unclear and they lack melody."
Also known for her devotional songs, classical music, ghazals and regional film songs, the singer said music directors still prefers her for melodious and romantic numbers.
