Saharanpur violence: SP delegation stopped from visiting spot

A delegation of Samajwadi Party leaders, which came here to probe the incidents of violence here, today staged protest after police allegedly stopped them from visiting Sadak Dudhali village where the clash took place.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Singh said a five-member delgation of the SP including former minister Mahboob Ali, MLA Sanjay Garg, Manoj Paras, Moolchand Chouhan and former MLA Gulam Mehmood, came here to probe the incident.
The SP leaders were allegedly prevented from leaving the PWD guest house, where they were staying, after which they sat on a dharna.
The delegation was provided all the information about the incident they asked for, he said.

The delegation demanded a judicial probe, registering case against BJP MP Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma and his brother and compensation for those affected in the incident.
The SP leaders alleged that BJP MP Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma and his brother are responsible for the incident as they tried to fuel communal tension in the district.

Meanwhile, state Congress vice president Imraan Masood also held the BJP MP responsible for the incident and alleged that the parliamentarian has tried to create tension in the area with his provocative speeches.
He claimed where the Senior Superintendent of Police's residence is not safe then how will the common people will feel secured there.

A rally on Thursday taken out to mark BR Ambedkar's birth anniversary in Sadak Dudhali village was allegedly objected to by members of a community who started pelting stones.
MP Sharma and SSP Love Kumar were among several people who suffered injuries in the ensuing stone pelting from both the sides. Some other policemen were also injured.
Following this, police reached the spot and pacified both the groups. However, the MP along with his supporters reached outside the SSP's official residence and started protesting demanding conduct of the rally and suspension of the Senior Superintendent of Police.
They damaged a CCTV camera outside the SSP's residence after which police personnel from nearby areas were deployed there.

The SSP had said permission for the rally was not given by the administration.
A flag march was also carried out in the village.
Two FIRs were yesterday registered against 12 persons and over 300 unnamed people in connection with two incidents of violence in Janakpuri.
The SSP had said in the two FIRs it has been mentioned that local MP Sharma was present at both the spots.
