The hospital, which today announced Rs 300 crore expansion of its facility at Saket in South Delhi is also keeping options open to acquire existing healthcare facilities. It is looking to tap markets in smaller cities.
"We are planning to take our capacity from 600 to 2,000 beds by 2022. We are working on that. Expansion of our facility at Saket will be complete by the end of 2017 and after that we would expand further," Smart Global group Chairman B K Modi told PTI.
He, however, declined to share investment details for the proposed expansion.
When asked about the acquisition plans, Modi said: "We have not scouted yet, it could be both organic and inorganic. There are lot of hospitals on sale now."
The group's lone hospital facility at Saket is being expanded to add a new ten-floor tower consisting 370 beds to add to the existing 230 beds.
"The project would be completed by end of 2017 and after that Saket City Hospital would have 600 beds. It would be the largest private full-service hospital in South Delhi," Modi, said adding the investment would be funded through internal accruals.
Besides, it will offer complete treatment facilities for cancer, and enhanced services of orthopedics, cardiac sciences and neurosciences.
For this expansion, Saket City Hospital would recruit approximately 600 physicians, 1,000 nurses, 300 paramedics and 500 support staffs, Modi said.
