Salgaocar, who lost to Rangdejied United, bounced back in the reckoning for the title race after beating Pune FC in their last match and are placed second with 37 points from 22 matches, four points behind leaders Bengaluru FC.
They now need to win both their remaining matches and see Bengaluru FC lose both their matches if they are to win the title.
With two matches remaining, they are now looking to finish among the top five at the end of the league.
Sporting Clube de Goa assistant coach Alex Alvares said "The team hasn't been playing the same way as we did in the first leg. May be injuries and change of pattern has been the reason behind team's poor showing in the second leg, especially in the last four matches which saw us eliminated from the title race. Now we are concentrating to win the last two matches to finish among the top five," said Alvares.
