Bhavsar originally a Gujarat Administrative Service officer has been appointed to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) on probation and has been allocated Gujarat cadre, a senior official in the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) said.
Bhavsar considered very close to Modi would continue as OSD on co-terminus basis with the tenure of and at the discretion of the Prime Minister, an order issued today by the DOPT said.
Bhavsar has worked for long with Modi when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat.
In the PMO here,he has been looking after appointments schedule and tours of the Prime Minister.
