Justice Sanjay Kumar Seth Wednesday sworn in as the 24th Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court here at Raj Bhavan.
State Governor Anandi Ben Patel administered the oath of office to Justice Seth in a ceremony.
"I am going to rev up the e-filing of cases in the courts," chief justice Seth told PTI after taking oath.
Responding to a query, chief justice Seth said he would decide his work priorities after returning to Jabalpur, where the high court is based.
He was made acting chief justice after the incumbent Hemant Gupta was elevated to the Supreme Court.
Before becoming a high court judge, he had served as an additional advocate general.
He was enrolled as an advocate on July 24, 1981 and practised in Jabalpur.
Seth was appointed as a judge to the high court on March 21, 2003, and was subsequently made a permanent judge on January 19, 2004, as per the high court website.
He is slated to retire in June 2019.
