An LA judge granted the restraining order on September 19, ordering Matt to stay 100 yards away from Sarah, 23, and her dog, reported TMZ online.
"On September 19, 2014, Ms Hyland obtained a Domestic Violence Temporary Restraining Order against Matthew Prokop. The documents filed speak for themselves. Out of respect for the court, the process and all parties, I have advised Ms. Hyland not to comment on the matter. We request that you respect the parties' privacy during this time," Sarah's lawyer Lee A Sherman said.
According to court documents, Matt pinned Sarah against a car during an argument about her clothes back in May. At that time, he called her names and choked her.
Sarah explained in the documents, "His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life."
Sarah suffered injuries to her voice in the alleged assault and had a "very sore throat following this event."
Matt's representative has not commented on the issue yet.
