Later he met the families of Dalits squatting near the mini-secretariat here since May 21 with their belongings and livestock as a mark of protest.

The Commission had directed him to visit the village and also meet the Dalit families who have shifted to Hisar, allegedly due to intimidation by Jats.

Sharma said he will send the report to the Commission for further action.

Sharma also met the district authorities to get more details about the issue.

The protesters had complained that some powerful people in the village had constructed a wall in front of their houses.

The district administration has appointed a DSP to inquire into the complaint.
