Scanty rains lead to sultry conditions in Bengal

With little or scanty rainfall in the city and a few districts, large parts of West Bengal continued to reel under heat conditions today.
According to the weatherman, the maximum temperature in the city was 34.1 degrees and minimum was 27.7 degrees Celsius.
Kolkata received 7.7 mm rainfall, while other places like Diamond Harbour got 23 mm rainfall, Haldia 14 mm, Midnapore 24 mm and Kalaikunda got 30 mm rainfall, the Met office said.
Scanty rainfall is expected tomorrow as well, it added.
