The Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) Wednesday alleged that parking charges were being realised against a Delhi High Court order, in areas falling under the BJP-ruled South Delhi Municipal Corporation(SDMC) in the city.
The parking charges are being realised from vehicle owners going to hospitals, malls and shopping complexes in SDMC jurisdiction despite the Delhi High court order barring it, Dilip Pandey said.
"I want to ask BJP leaders, specially Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari, who was responsible for parking charges being taken despite it being termed illegal by the court," Pandey said showing copy of the High Court order.
AAP's leader of opposition in SDMC, Praveen Rajput alleged that when he tried to raise the matter of "illegal" parking fee in the House meeting of the corporation, a notice was served to expel him from it.
