Select copra climbs further on good demand

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode both surged by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 4,150 and Rs 4,050 from Tuesday's closing levels of Rs 4,050 and Rs 3,950.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai shot up by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 7,000 from Rs 6,800 yesterday.

Rest of the spices maintained a stable trend in the absence of any market moving factors.

The following are today's closing rates in rupees with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 405/435 (405/435), ginger bleached (per kg) 90 (90), ginger unbleached (per kg) 105 (105), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 4,150 (4,050), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 4,050 (3,950), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 7,000 (6,800) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 5,000 (5,000).
