Select pulses rise on uptick in demand

Select pulses led by urad rose by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today owing to pick up in demand from retailers against restricted supplies.
However, kabli gram declined on lack of buying support.
Traders said besides pick up in demand from retailers, fall in arrivals from producing regions mainly led to the rise in urad and other pulses prices.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local rose by Rs 200 each to Rs 6,000-6,600 and Rs 6,100-6,200 per quintal. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,200-6,700 and Rs 6,600-6,800 per quintal.

Moong and its dal chilka local moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,900-5,100 and Rs 5,400-5,600 per quintal. Its dal dhoya local and best quality traded higher by the same margin to Rs 6,000-6,500 and Rs 6,500-6,700 per quintal.
Masoor small and bold also went up by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,700-4,850 and Rs 4,750-4,950 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 5,000-5,500 and Rs 5,100-5,600 per quintal.

Malka local and best quality gained Rs 100 each to Rs 5,300-5,500 and Rs 5,400-5,600 per quintal.
Arhar and its dal dara variety too finished up by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,650 and Rs 6,500-8,300 per quintal.

On the other hand, kabuli gram small variety lost Rs 200 at Rs 9,000-9,500 per quintal.
