Senior IAS officer sent back to cadre before completing tenure

Senior IAS officer Rajat Bhargava was today sent back to his cadre state -- Andhra Pradesh -- before completing his central deputation.
He is presently working as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved repatriation of Bhargava, a 1990 batch IAS officer, to his parent cadre with immediate effect, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said, without giving any reason.
His five-year central deputation tenure was upto April 23, 2017.
Another senior bureaucrat Amandeep Garg has been appointed as Joint Secretary in Cabinet Secretariat, it said. He is a 1999 batch IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre.

Alka Upadhyaya, a 1990 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development, the order said.
