Night temperature at many places in both south and north Bengal was three to five degrees below normal, the Met department said.
Kolkata recorded the lowest night temperature of this season at 11.2 degrees Celsius, which was three notches below normal.
Other places which were under the grip of cold wave conditions were Sriniketan (6.5 deg C), Jalpaiguri (7.2 deg C), Asansol (7.8 deg C), Bankura (8.4 deg C), Burdwan (8.8 deg C) and Diamond Harbour (9 deg C).
