Severe traffic snarls in south Delhi

Commuters in south Delhi had a harrowing experience this evening with severe traffic snarls being reported from several areas.
According to Delhi Traffic Police, severe traffic snarls in south Delhi were reported between 6 to 8 PM at Chhatarpur, Sector 12 RK Puram, Vasant Kunj and Dhaula Kuan.
Around the same time, traffic was also reported to be thrown out-of-gear at New Delhi's Race Course area, ITO intersection at central Delhi, Rajouri Garden and Subhash Nagar in west Delhi, near Red Fort, and south-east Delhi areas, which include Kalindi Kunj and Hazrat Nizamuddin, a traffic official said.
In several areas, traffic officials had to be deployed to bring the situation under control, the official added.
