The 56-year-old American author, whose books were made into a hugely successful HBO series and two movies, hinted she would like there to be another movie but it is not happening anytime soon, reported Daily Mirror.
During an appearance on "This Morning today" , she said, "A couple of years ago I kept hearing there was going to be one but now it's no. But I'd probably be the last to know, along with the actors."
Earlier, Sarah Jessica-Parker, who plays the lead role of Carrie, hinted heavily at a another movie on Instagram as rumours swirled this year. The actress, however, said they had not discussed another film yet.
"Sex and the City: The Movie" was a hit but the second film in 2010 was panned by critics as it featured the cast in Abu Dhabi, away from their usually haunts in New York.
