Noting that the party is the bridge between the government and the people, BJP President Amit Shah today said women members of the party should lead the way in taking the works of the government to the public and help mitigate their problems.
Addressing women party workers at the conclusion of the two-day national executive meeting of BJP Mahila Morcha, Shah said women best understand the problems of the common people and can work effectively in strengthening the party's base across the country, especially in the South and North East where the party does not have a strong base.
The party Chief said BJP was the only party that accorded a lot of importance to women as there were seven women ministers in the Narendra Modi-led NDA government.
He said that for the first time ever, a woman was representing India across the world as its Foreign Minister. He also said two states ruled by the party were run by women chief ministers.
Shah also exhorted the women members of the party to start work in connecting with the people in assembly poll-bound states to ensure BJP came to power there and helped the nation change for the good in the next few years.
Shah paid rich tributes to the Kargil conflict heroes and said he saluted all those brave sons of the soil who served Mother India.
Lauding the work done by the party's Mahila Morcha, Shah said when a man adopts an ideology, he connects with that ideology. But when a woman adopts an ideology, the whole family gets connected.
Mahila Morcha chief Saroj Pandey said their wing has already started work in poll-bound states as training camps were slated to start soon and women members were being imparted training in this regard.
