Shamim gets 'Player of the Year' in PGTI Annual awards

Shamim Khan was named Player of the Year in the Professional Golf Tour of India Annual Rolex Awards presented at the Jaypee Greens Course here today.
The Delhi golfer had topped the Professional Golf Tour of India's Rankings for 2012 with total earnings of Rs.5,747,713. for the season.
The 'First Time Winners' awards were presented to Abhijit Singh Chadha, Om Prakash Chouhan, Rashid Khan and Ajeetesh Sandhu. These four professionals registered their maiden victories on the PGTI during the 2012 season.
Abhijit Singh Chadha received the Emerging Player of the Year Award. He won this award on the basis of accumulating the highest earnings among all those professionals who made their debut as full card holders on the PGTI in the 2012 season.

Chadha, who hails from Chandigarh, took home over Rs. 18 lakh in prize money last year.
Delhi-based Aditya Raj Kumar Chauhan won the 2012 PGTI Feeder Tour Order of Merit with earnings of Rs. 123,325 for the season.
Delivering the key note address, Mr. Padamjit Sandhu, Director of the PGTI, shared the key moments in PGTI's journey over the years and thanked Rolex for their strong and strategic support.
Mr. Gautam Thapar, President of the PGTI and Chairman and CEO of Avantha Group, and Mr. Yogesh Shah, CEO & Managing Director of Rolex India presided over the awards function.
