A Shiv Sena MP has made a strong plea to parliamentarians from Maharashtra to speak in Marathi in Parliament on February 27, which is observed as Marathi language day.
In a letter to the MPs, Bharatkumar Raut, a member of Rajya Sabha, recalled that every year, February 27, the birth anniversary of Marathi poet and playwright V V Shirvadkar alias Kusumagraj is celebrated as 'Marathi Bhasha Divas' all over Maharashtra.
Raut appealed to them that they should use only Marathi while speaking or writing in Parliament on that day.
