Shoojit Sircar hopes for U/A certificate for 'Pink'

Producer Shoojit Sircar says he hopes a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification for his upcoming film "Pink".
The trailer of "Pink", launched today, shows megastar Amitabh Bachchan as a lawyer and three girls (played by Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang), who are molested by Rajveer (Angad Bedi) but are instead charged of assault for attacking the molester.
"We already have the trailer (U/A certificate). I think they (CBFC) will be glad to present this film to the country. The trailer is U/A certificate and that's what we want to aim for (for the film)," Shoojit told reporters here.

"We are not here to sensationalise anything in the film. I never do that in my films," he said.
The "Piku" helmer revealed he had tough time getting a certificate from the Censor Board for "Vicky Donor".
"'Vicky Donor' was the most difficult film to get U/A certificate than any other film. I don't believe to titillate the audience by doing things that are not right for the society," he added.

Shoojit said after watching the trailer of a movie, people decide whether they want to watch a film or not.
"'Pink' doesn't have any special or item number or song and dance. It is purely character and content driven. We are introducing a singer from Pakistan. There are so many characters in the film that we would want to talk and promote," he said.

"Besides all this, there will be the usual associations. There will be two songs and a few parts of the trailer."
"Pink" is slated to release on September 16, in a box-office clash with the fourth instalment of "Raaz", starring Emraan Hashmi, and the "Madras Cafe" director feels there is enough space for two films to release together.
"Every week there are two three releases. The day we went on floors is the time we announced the release date. Let's see," Shoojit said.
