One person was injured when four persons shot at a gym owner over a dispute in Janakpuri area of west Delhi, police said today.
Kamal (24), who was returning after a workout session at the gym, suffered bullet injuries on his knees when one Praveen opened fire at Vijay Singh (36), owner of the gym at Pankha road in Janakpuri area yesterday night.
The bullet missed Vijay and hit Kamal, who was immediately rushed to a hospital where he was provided treatment and discharged, police said.
"The staff of the gym managed to nab Praveen, who has been arrested. The remaining three managed to flee," Additional Commissioner of Police (West) Ranveer Singh said, adding that a case has been registered and efforts are on to nab the others.
A country-made pistol along with three live cartridges and three used cartridges was recoverd from the spot.
Vijay told police that he along with his brother was present in the gym yesterday at 8 PM, when four persons, including Deepak Gupta, who was known to him, arrived.
"Gupta started arguing with him and abused them. They were asked to leave the gym but Deepak Gupta started shouting loudly. In the meantime, Praveen took out a pistol and fired at Vijay Singh with the intention to kill him which caused injury to one Kamal in his knee," Singh said.
During interrogation, Praveen told police that he along with Ibrar, Deepak Gupta and Babbu Agarwal were involved in the incident. They were sent by one Vineet with whom Vijay had a dispute a day earlier over Vineet's using the gym without taking membership, police said.
