Newly-appointed Maharashtra Congress chief Balasaheb Thorat asked his party workers on Thursday to shun groupism and work towards strengthening the party at the booth level.
Speaking at a meeting of party workers from Konkan region at Airoli in Navi Mumbai near here, Thorat said the need of the hour was to ensure that the Congress party's "all-inclusive" ideology is strengthened and the "divisive" ideology of the RSS is defeated.
"People are still with the Congress. You need to put forth to them the failures of this (BJP-led) government," he said, adding that the party needs to be strengthened at the booth level.
The state government hasn't fulfilled a single promise it made in 2014, he alleged and added that farmers, youths, poor are not happy with the regime.
"Due to backing of the government, divisive forces are getting emboldened," he charged.
Party workers from Navi Mumbai, Panvel, Raigad, Thane, Mira Bhayander, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Palghar, Vasai Virar, Ulhasnagsr, Kalyan, Dombivli and Bhiwandi were present on the occasion.
