Six arrested for suspected killing of youth

The arrests followed a police complaint made by the mother of Sonu Sahu, the deceased youth, alleging that her son had been killed.

The six persons, Samir Khan, MD Ballu, Sk Taj, Rajesh Singh, Lallan Seikh and Sunny Sahu, had accompanied Sonu for a bath at the Pradhanpalli bank just at the back of the OMFED plant on November 19.

Sonu did not return and two days after the incident his body was recovered by the police and the fire brigade downstream of the river.

At first the family members believed this was a case of drowning, but a deep injury mark on the forehead made them suspicious, following which Sonu
