Six held, over 7 kg opium recovered in Jharkhand

Six persons, including two women from Uttar Pradesh, were arrested on Sunday after police recovered over seven kg of opium and cash from their possession.

Based on a tip-off, a team headed by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Khunti) Kuldeep Kumar was formed to apprehend the culprits trying to smuggle opium.

Altogether, over seven kg of opium, two cars and four mobile phones were seized during a raid by the team in the district, besides Rs 3.50 lakh in cash, a police official said.
