Smartphone app to help locate book stalls in Kolkata Book Fair

Finding important book stalls in the Kolkata International Book Fair will be a breeze this year, with the help of a mobile app guiding the book lovers to their favourite stalls.
The app, developed by I-T professionals of the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC), will come in handy for those who have trouble locating stalls of important book publishers.
The app will be available on smartphones running on Android Operating System and could be downloaded from Google Play.
Besides providing information about book stalls, the app will also list daily events.
Once downloaded, the app need not require any Internet connection to remain operational, an official of the CESC I-T team which developed it, told PTI.

"The app will basically help visitors navigate the fair. It will also guide one with the route maps between individual stalls and you do not need Internet connection to run this app," the official said.
The officials said that the application was quite easy to use, convenient and one could also locate utility areas like the food court, rest rooms, and administrative buildings.
