The company had posted a net profit of Rs 12.74 crore in the same period previous fiscal, SML Isuzu said in a BSE filing.
Net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 316.07 crore as against Rs 319.54 crore, down 1.08 per cent, it added.
For the 2015-16 fiscal, the company said its net profit stood at Rs 51.16 crore as against Rs 36.94 crore in the previous fiscal, up 38.49 per cent.
The company said its Board of Directors at a meeting held today has recommended a dividend of Rs 8 per equity share for the financial year ended March 31, 2016.
The dividend will be paid on August 16, 2016, subject to approval of shareholders in the ensuing Annual General Meeting of the company, it added.
Shares of SML Isuzu ended at Rs 1,034.70 apiece, down 2.84 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
