The core functions of the Ireland centre would be R&D and logistics. The centre will have detailed and advanced research on developing next generation stent, Sahajanand Medical Technologies Pvt Ltd said.
The company, however, did not provide any financial details about the investments it will be making in establishing the headquarters and the R&D centre.
"With this centre, we hope to tap into the excellent talent pool available in Galway to make further enhancements in existing products and to develop new and innovative products," SMT Western European Head Gaurav Goel said in a statement.
Sahajanand Medical Technologies is a leading stent manufacturer and sells its product in more than 60 countries across the world.
