Snag in 2 power generation plants supplying electricity to

Technical snag in two major power generation plants resulted in a cut in electricity supply to the national capital to the tune of around 600 mega watt.
Officials said NTPC's Dadri thermal power plant developed snag late last night resulting a cut in supply of around 400 mega wattt to Delhi.
They said the city did not get 210 mega watt of power from the Badarpur thermal power plant as one of its generation units was also down due to technical problem.
"Delhi is getting around 600 MW of less power due snags in the Dadri Thermal plant 2 and BTPS. While Dadri Thermal plant 2 developed a snag late last night, BTPS developed it this morning," the officials said.

They, however, said the distribution companies have bought additional power and there was no shortage of electricity due to cut in supply from the two power plants.
Meanwhile Delhi's maximum power demand today reached 4,611 MW. Last year, the power demand at this time of the year was around 4500 MW.
