'Modern Family' star Sofia Vergara allegedly felt her ex-fiance Nick Loeb used her to boost his own business.
The 41-year-old actress confirmed she had called off her two-year engagement last weekend, blaming their busy schedules, but she actually ended their romance as she thought he was trying to take advantage of her fame, reported Us magazine.
"It really embarrassed Sofia," a source said.
Failed politician Loeb, 38, pushed the actress to promote his Onion Crunch company and also begged her to get him a part in her new movie 'Don't Mess With Texas,' alongside Reese Witherspoon.
"He's always trying to use her success to make himself successful. I think she's finally started to see him as the opportunist he really is," the source added.
The brunette beauty, who has a 21-year-old son, Manolo, from her first marriage to Joe Gonzalez, announced their split on her WhoSay profile last weekend.
