Software exports from Crystal IT park rises 132.5% to Rs 93-cr

Software exports from city-based Crystal IT park have increased by a whooping 132.5 per cent to Rs 93 crore in the first half of the current financial year.
The software exports from the park stood at Rs 40 crore in the corresponding period of the last fiscal.
"The export of software from the state's lone IT park in special economic zone (SEZ) has increased to Rs 93 crore by registering an increase of 132.5 per cent in the first half of this fiscal. The export from it was Rs 40 crore during the corresponding period in the last fiscal," SEZ Assistant Development Commissioner Ravi Chhingani said today.
The IT park which houses 6 companies has employed over 1,100 people, he said, adding 5 more units are proposed to come up in the park.
"City-based Madhya Pradesh Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam looks after the IT park from where the software exports started in June 2012," he added.
