Asserting that the Akalis, particularly the Badals, had grown so much 'unpopular', Captain Amarinder said, even their alliance partner BJP was waiting for the earliest opportunity to withdraw its support.
"The sooner the alliance collapses under the weight of its own contradictions, the better it will be for Punjab", the Deputy Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, said.
He regretted that even after remaining Chief Minister for such a long time, Parkash Singh Badal had not learnt anything.
He condemned the alleged deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab and blamed the Chief Minister for it.
He said, Badal had forgotten his responsibilities and was instead busy in amassing personal wealth that is now running into thousands of crores.
"It is so strange that while Punjab is getting poorer and poorer Badals are getting richer and richer", he remarked.
Referring to the recent Moga incident where a young girl was molested and pushed down a running Orbit bus, owned by the Badals, which led to her death the former Chief Minister said, it was because the people working for Badals' companies had become a law unto themselves and nobody dared to touch them.
He said, Badal should learn lessons from Capt Amarinder to put state's interests above his personal interests.
