The district excise officer Niresh Palia has complained that Lalman Yadav thrashed him yesterday at his office in collectorate when he prevented him from selling illicit liquor, Inspector incharge of Kotwali police station Gajnendra Rai said.
Yadav also threatened the official, he said.
Palia told PTI that he has apprised the district police chief and his senior officials about the incident.
An FIR has been registered under sections 189, 353, 504 and 506 of the IPC, the Inspector said, adding investigation is on.
