Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav today asked all those "humiliated in the BJP" to lend their support to his party in winning the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
"In BJP many senior leaders are hurt and insulted, I request all those leaders besides others in different parties to come along and help Samajwadi Party by lending their support to make it win in the Lok Sabha polls... SP will honour and welcome them," Yadav said addressing a press conference here.
Referring to BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's campaigning, Yadav said that "even after the complaint to the Election Commission on the slogan 'Har Har Modi', his men have again insulted the people of this holy city by using a modified version of a shloka eulogizing Goddess Durga."
The modified shloka says, 'Ya Modi Sarvbhuteshu, Rashtrarupen Sansthitah, namastasye, namastasye Namo Namah'.
To a question of security threats to Modi in Uttar Pradesh, Yadav said "we will provide full protection to Modi in UP."
Yadav condemned the incident of rape of a journalist in Mirzapur district and said that the the culprits will not be spared and will be punished. We criticize this kind of incident, it has hurt us," he said.
"Who will become the Prime Minister from the Third Front government will be decided after the Loksabha polls, we would bring all the non-BJP and non-Congress parties together on one platform and will decide PM among ourselves," Yadav said to a question.
"BJP had always tried to disturb the harmony of the city and had also tried to spread hatred among people, SP had always till this juncture stepped in to save people from such menace in UP," said Yadav.
Terming both Modi and Kejriwal are outsiders who are making false promises to the people, Yadav said that SP candidate belongs to the city and will remain with the people even after the Lok Sabha polls" whereas bhagodas (deserter) will leave the city after the polls.
