Special emphasis being given on promotion of agro-based

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said that special emphasis is being given on the promotion of agro-based and food processing industries to ensure procurement of entire produce of the farmers.

Khattar said this in a meeting with a delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) led by its President Anil Khaitan, which called on him here today.

Khaitan congratulated the chief minister for Haryana being ranked third in the 'Ease of Doing Business' ranking.

Khattar told the delegation that recently the Centre announced to increase the minimum support price (MSP) of Kharif crops in the larger interest of farmers.

"Now, as the farmers would get handsome amount for their produce, they would want that their entire produce to be lifted by the state government. I have assured Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji that each and every grain of the farmer will be procured by the state government," the chief minister said in a release.

While underlining the significance of industrial sector in ushering growth and prosperity in the state, Khattar said that the state government has taken several initiatives for the promotion of industries so as to ensure industrial development in the state and to create maximum employment opportunities for youth.

Laying stress on the cluster approach for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the chief minister said that the Centre has not only lauded the Mini Cluster Scheme of Haryana but also asked the other states to emulate Haryana model while framing their MSME policy.

He said that in order to ensure uniform industrial development of the state, the industries are being encouraged to set up their units in all parts of the state.

On this occasion, Khattar accepted the proposal to become the chief guest in the forthcoming States Conclave-2018 to be organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi on August 24.

It was also informed that the second edition of HITEX-the mega trade fair is proposed to be held in February, 2019 at Gurugram.

Apart from this, PHD Chamber has proposed to do a series of awareness seminars for the MSME in various industrial clusters of Haryana in association with the state government.

The seminars will aim to highlight the schemes and other policy benefits the government is offering to the MSME sector in the state, the release said.
