In a bid to enhance the quality of education and training in cyber security, Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya, one of Israel's leading academic institutes, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with city-based S P Jain School of High Technology (SPJ-HT).
The pact was signed in the presence of Israel President Reuven Rivlin and Union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi last evening, a release issued by the institute said here today.
As per the agreement, students undergoing a six-month training programme in cyber security with SPJ-HT can now opt to spend a month of the programme in Israel, and also pursue internship opportunities there.
On the occasion, Rivlin said the evolving partnerships between leading academic institutions of the two countries will help in their shared goals of academic excellence and development.
Javadekar said that the partnership in the education sector will be beneficial not only for both institutions, but for both nations as well.
"I am pleased to note that S P Jain and IDC, two leading institutions from India and Israel, have come together to encourage inter-nation cooperation and exchange of knowledge
and best practices amongst our two countries," he said.
Speaking about the collaboration, SPJ-HT president Nitish Jain said that increasingly sophisticated nature of cyber attacks and the ability to use new technologies such as machine learning algorithms to analyse, understand, and counter those threats has fundamentally changed the nature of the job.
"The demand supply gap for experts in this domain is now unprecedented. Companies and governments, not just in India but across the world, need professionals with expertise in this domain, and it is our goal to provide them with the best talent," he said.
