Spouses of candidates turn out to be richer

Senior Congress leader P C Chacko, who is contesting from Chalakudy constituency in the April 10 Lok Sabha polls, has declared movable assets including Bank deposits, policies and gold ornaments totally worth Rs 22.80 lakh, while his wife has declared assets worth Rs 1.12 crore.
Chacko has declared a liquid cash of Rs 50,000 while his wife has Rs 5,200.
Chacko has agricultural land worth Rs 12.75 lakh in his name while his wife has land worth Rs 30.20 lakh, Rs 21.45 lakh worth two plots and Rs 60.35 lakh worth two buildings. In Ernakulam they have a 2000 square feet house worth Rs 20 lakh. Their total liability is Rs 20.63 lakh.
Well known actor, Innocent, who is testing his electoral fortunes this time, has Rs 7000 as liquid cash, while his wife has only Rs 3000. They have total assets worth Rs 4.08 crore.
Innocent has bank deposits worth Rs 99.82 lakh, while his wife has deposits worth Rs 29.79 lakh. He has vehicles worth Rs 33 lakh and deposits worth Rs 63.55 lakh.
While the candidate has gold worth Rs 2.70 lakh, his wife has Rs 18 lakh worth gold jewellery.
Innocent has over Rs 2 crore worth immovable assets, while his wife has Rs 1.09 crore worth 109 cents of land.
The CPI(M) supported independent candidate from Ernakulam constituency Christy Fernandez, who has served as Secretary to former President Pratibha Patil, has liquid cash worth Rs 30,000 and his wife has Rs 20,000 cash in hand. The candidate has 1.74 acre land worth Rs 34.74 crore while his wife has 9 acre land worth Rs 5.47 crore. In Kaloor in Kochi Christy has 1.05 crore worth 4380 square feet land and two houses worth Rs 2.31 crore in Kochi and Bangalore.
While the candidate has Rs 21,000 in gold, his wife has gold ornaments worth Rs 5.25 lakh.
