Spurned youth had first killed cousin: Police

Upset over a failed love affair, Ravi yesterday gunned down four persons, including his lover, and strangled his cousin Naveen before killing himself.

According to police, Ravi had managed to procure an automatic pistol and a country-made pistol from western UP.

Ravi allegedly killed his cousin Naveen first and hid his body in a bed cabinet on Sunday night. Ravi had developed illicit relations with Naveen's wife Renu, who was also killed in the shooting.

Investigators said they were yet to ascertain whether Renu had any role in Naveen's murder.

Renu and her landlady were shot dead yesterday morning, hours after Naveen was strangled. Ravi then drove to Ghaziabad where he shot dead Renu's father Harender and her sister Baby.

There were also claims that Ravi wanted to marry Baby but the family rejected it which enraged him.

A senior police official said Ravi fled from Bindapur residence of Renu in his car and parked it in his residence. He then rode a motorcycle to his friend's place and left it there.

Ravi took the friend's motorcycle and rode to Ghaziabad where he murdered Renu's father and sister, the official said.
