Sreedharan takes part in Hyderabad metro train test run

'Metro Man' E Sreedharan today participated in a test run of Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) between two stations and termed as 'high quality' the quality of construction and facilities created at a depot here.
Sreedharan, Principal Advisor to Delhi Metro Rail Corp, along with HMR Managing Director N V S Reddy took part in the train test run from Nagole to Survey of India metro stations.
He inspected various facilities of Uppal Metro Rail depot and Nagole station.
"The ride quality and behaviour of various components of the Hyderabad Metro system are very good," he said.
Sreedharan advised Reddy and the team of engineers of construction company to maintain the same high standard in construction of the remaining rail structures and complete the project as per schedule.
He appreciated the innovative design features of metro stations and engineering techniques adopted in viaduct and station construction by Larson & Toubro (L&T), a HMR release said.
The project, originally estimated to cost Rs 14,132 crore, is being executed by L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail Pvt Ltd.
HMR is the biggest urban infrastructure project undertaken on public-private partnership basis. The elevated rail will cover a total distance of 72 km with three corridors comprising 66 stations, the release added.
