Chemicals manufacturer SRF Ltd today reported 26 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 53 crore for the quarter ended March 31.
The company had reported a net profit of Rs 72 crore in the same period a year ago.
However, net sales of the company rose eight per cent to Rs 884 crore.
"Major investments have been commissioned recently which should provide positive impetus going forward," SRF Managing Director Ashish Bharat Ram said in a statement.
For the entire fiscal ended March 2014, the company's consolidated net profit after tax declined 36 per cent to Rs 162 crore as against Rs 253 crore in the previous fiscal due to absence of income from sale of carbon emission reductions following changes in European Union - Emission Trading Scheme.
The company, however, reported six per cent growth in consolidated net sales at Rs 3,993 crore.
