Vinodhkumar was among the 10 students, all below the age of 20, arrested and lodged in the school in connection with the murder of one Karthikeyan, a mechanical engineering student in the city last month.
He developed stomach pain this afternoon, after reportedly unloading some rice bags and the authorities gave some oil and tea to him. However, he was not able to consume it, police said.
Vinodhkumar had taken some rice gruel and milk, but vomitted after some time and was immediately taken to the Government Hospital, where he died before admission, they said.
