Student polls: Himachal Univ executive council meet tomorrow

Bajpai had hinted at scrapping student polls to maintain congenial and peaceful atmosphere in the university and colleges in a recent meeting with principals of colleges.

The students organisations, including ABVP, SFI and NSUI, have strongly opposed any move to scrap students' polls and formed a Joint Action Committee to "thwart any move by the University to deny students right to elect their own representatives".
