Sudhir K Jain appointed new vice chancellor of SMVDU

J-K Governor N N Vohra, who is the Chancellor of SMVDU, appointed Prof Jain as Vice Chancellor of the varsity for a period of three years, a spokesman of Raj Bhawan said.

Prof Jain, who is presently a Professor in the Department of Management Studies at IIT-Delhi, was selected from a panel of four recommended by a search committee headed by Dr Sudhir Bloeria, Vice Chancellor, Central University, Jammu, he added.

Born in 1951, Prof Jain obtained his B.Sc degree and M A (Economics) degree from Rajasthan University, Jaipur and PhD (Applied Economics/Econometrics) from IIT-Kanpur in 1979.
